Creative Learning
Two of the major players in the UK World Music industry, Access All Areas and The WOMAD Foundation, have joined forces to bring a unique Creative Learning opportunity to schools. Jointly, we have many years experience working within the education sector providing the the kind of inspirational meetings that bring real engagement and vibrancy to the learning experience.
Our partnership is committed to introducing music from around the World to young people in ways which will encourage cultural exchange and a spirit of enquiry. We believe that educational projects with musicians and artists from different parts of the World not only bring new musical skills but also engender a deeper understanding and respect for the societies in which we live.
Working directly with with visiting musicians, our ongoing programme offers schools concerts and workshops with direct links to the curriculum for KS1 and KS2, accompanied by an education resource pack for extended work following the visit.
A number of our groups have been trained by WOMAD Foundation already and have comprehensive packages available to teachers and group leaders.
To find out more on what they can do please click on the links below for each artist and contact us if you'd like to discuss a visit.
