Stamping Ground Festival of Americana announces Saturday headliner
18th December 2012
We are more than a little bit excited to announce that THE BE GOOD TANYA’S will be the Saturday night headliner at the new STAMPING GROUND Festival of Americana near Stowmarket, Suffolk, which takes place on 7-8 September 2013.
Graham at AAA has programmed the music and pulled together a top-class line-up of Cajun, blues, bluegrass, alt. country, honky tonk and swing. The line-up also includes those wild boys of Louisiana the PINE LEAF BOYS and continues with honey-toned singer/songwriter CARRIE RODRIQUEZ. BIG BOY BLOATER blasts out those old Chicago blues, whilst GORDIE MACKEEMAN & HIS RHYTHM BOYS takes old-time roots music and delivers it with a shot of pure adrenalin straight to the heart.
The No. 1 Soul Man, GENO WASHINGTON, will electrify the stage with his soul, blues and R’n’B combo THE YOYOS and winner of the Big Easy award for Best Female Performer, MESCHYA LAKE, will bring her LITTLE BIG HORNS all the way from New Orleans for a non-stop blast of jive and Lindy Hop mayhem.
Self styled white-trash Cajun Queen SARAH SAVOY breezes in with THE FRANCADIANS, whilst HANK WANGFORD presents in his own words ‘the dark and grubby troubled soul’ of British country music. Those two will get along just fine!
With dark side jazz funk from Texan SAM BAKER and the master of original acoustic blues DOUG MACLEOD both providing solid American guitar style and new kids on the UK Americana block, AHAB, along for the ride, where else would you want to be for a weekend of finest Southern hospitality????
